Local Philanthropy & Service
In addition to raising money and awareness for arthritis and related diseases, our sisters recognize the importance of giving back in many other ways.
The Delta Delta Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi hosts an annual Run for the Roses 5k as our main philanthropic event. This race is held once every fall to benefit the AOII Foundation. This foundation provides grants to researchers seeking a cure for arthritis, financial support for the American Juvenile Arthritis Organization and funds many other scholarships, education and leadership programs. Last year we raised over $20,000 through our Run for Roses race and other contributions making us the number one fundraising AOII chapter in the nation.
In addition to the efforts Delta Delta puts into our international philanthropy, we also volunteer our time to many other worthy causes. This year, sisters have also served with Auburn University Dance Marathon benefiting the Children's Miracle Network, The Beat Bama Food Drive, Women's Hope Medical Clinic, Auburn Internaitonal Justice Mission, IMPACT, Project Uplift, Best Buddies International, Alternative Student Breaks, Tiger Habitat for Humanity, and many other service organizations on campus.
