ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY
Arthritis
Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.
AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts
We’re proud to continue this legacy of service at Delta Delta! Here’s how we’re making an impact in our community:
Our chapter specifically raises funds and awareness for juvenile arthritis, and all of our proceeds go directly to the Arthritis Foundation. Last year alone, we raised over $50,000 through our philanthropic efforts.
Each year, we host two larger events and two smaller events. In the spring, our main event is Slice Out Juvenile Arthritis, where we provide pizza, baked goods, and live music to all who purchase a ticket. We also host Valentine's from AOII, where we sell roses on the concourse for Valentine’s Day. In the fall, our main event is Run for Roses, a 5k that takes place throughout Auburn’s campus. Our last main event is AOII Goes Blue Week, a week filled with concourse events and raising money. Along with these events, we host benefit days with local Auburn businesses where a portion of their funds from the day are donated to our philanthropy.
