RECRUITMENT 101

Sorority recruitment is an exciting opportunity to find your home away from home. It’s a mutual selection process where Potential New Members (PNMs) get to meet and learn about each sorority, while sororities learn about you—and ultimately extend invitations to join their sisterhood.

PANHELLENIC RECRUITMENT ROUNDS

Round 1: Ice Water Tea Round

Ice Water Tea, which is the first round of Panhellenic Recruitment at Auburn, is a virtual video round. Potential New Members will have the opportunity to watch a video made by each of the 18 chapters on campus. These videos highlight each chapter’s values, campus involvement, and what being a part of their chapter means to them. Each chapter will also have the opportunity to watch a video made by each PNM, allowing the chapters to learn about the PNMs through a prompted question.

Round 2: Philanthropy Round

Philanthropy Round, which highlights service and community impact, is an exciting time to be invited into chapter rooms full of conversations about the wonderful things each chapter contributes to their respective cause. Alpha Omicron Pi proudly supports the Arthritis Foundation. The Delta Delta Chapter at Auburn University specifically focuses on raising awareness and sharing information about Juvenile Arthritis. We love sharing about our events, like Run for the Roses, a 5k that takes place around Auburn’s campus each fall, and our spring event, Slice Out, where members of the Auburn community are invited to enjoy pizza and cake while listening to live music.

Round 3: Sisterhood Round

Sisterhood Round, which centers on the genuine connections within our chapter, is an exciting time to learn what our sisterhood means to us. This is where friendship stories are told and special memories are shared. It is also a sweet time for PNMs to share what they are looking for in a community that will serve as their home away from home for the next four years.

Round 4: Preference Round

Preference Round is centered on meaningful conversations between a PNM and chapter members who have left a lasting impression on them during the week. Each conversation focuses on AOII’s core values and how chapter members see these traits reflected within each PNM.

Bid Day

Bid Day is an exciting day where active members have the opportunity to celebrate the new pledge class. We love helping our new members feel welcomed into a community that will support them throughout their collegiate experience and a sisterhood that will last a lifetime.

Throughout the process, keep in mind that recruitment is about finding where you feel most at home! We can’t wait to meet you, whether through Panhellenic recruitment or another opportunity with AOII.

POTENTIAL NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTION FORM (PNMIF)

How can you make an impact during formal recruitment? Members and non-members are invited to recommend a potential new member or introduce a legacy through our Potential New Member Introduction Form. A Potential New Member Introduction Form (PNMIF) is an easy-to-use, electronic form that allows introductions of potential new members to collegiate chapters prior to formal recruitment.

Do you want to share the outstanding achievements, leadership skills, or positive personality traits of a potential new member? This is how! Members and non-members are encouraged to submit an Introduction Form for Potential New Members who embody our values. The information provided in an Introduction Form can help enhance the consideration that potential new members receive for membership.

Are you a collegiate member and want to recommend a PNM to another chapter? Go right ahead! Collegiate members are more than welcome to submit an Introduction Form for AOII chapters other than their own. The PNMIF is not required by AOII to be considered for membership.
